Iran’s top diplomat, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, is expected to make a stop in Cairo for a meeting with the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, sources tell Iran Nuances, in a push to finalize an understanding on new interaction modality between the Agency and Iran.
The meeting, potentially set to occur as Araghchi travels to Tunisia for an official visit this week, could be the final, critical step in weeks of tense negotiations to hammer out a new agreement on IAEA activities in Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister earlier today held a phone call with Egyptian counterpart to discuss the nuclear issue as well as the IAEA’s role in advancing diplomacy and preventing further complication of the situation.
