Iran and Russia signed the agreement for the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway on Wednesday, 17 May, 2023. Iranian and Russian transportation ministers signed the document in presence of Iranian president Ibrahim Raisi. Russian president Vladimir Putin joined the ceremony via video-conferencing.
